Rootrainer Propagation Trays
ALL ROOTRAINER PRODUCTS ARE MANUFACTURED FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS AND ARE ABLE TO BE RECYCLED
Rootrainers are an unique container system for the propagation of seeds and cuttings.
Manufactured in our own factory in Scotland they are now used internationally for many types of plants.
Rootrainers
have numerous advantages over other forms of containers:
- the hinged opening enables the plants to be inspected or removed with greatly reduced risk of damage or 'shock'
- the internal grooves and greater depth promote optimum root formation-and sturdier plants
- there is a variety of sizes available to suit different plants
- economical use of bench space
- they are reusable, lightweight and can be flat-packed
- made from recycled plastic
- afford the opportunity for direct sticking into individual cells
- allow faster and simpler potting on or planting out
- lend themselves to mechanisation
- ideally suited for large or small scale production
- brings all year round use of facilities for Tree Nurseries with 2 or more cycles per year
- produces high quality, fully graded plants within a shorter production time.
Rootrainers are a two-part system : folding inserts (books/cells) fitting into outer holding trays. These are
packed separately for delivery –
one case of books requires one case of trays/holders .
Propagating lids are available as an
optional extra for the smaller Rapid, Rannoch and Sherwood Rootrainers sizes. Rootrainers are grouped as follows - Original Rootrainers (
Rapid;
Rannoch;
Sherwood;
Fleet "B" and
Jumbo) and
Compact Rootrainers (Rapid)
A comment of interest
"I've just returned from studying plants in the island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean some 380km south of Yemen and 240km east of Somalia.
Thought you might be interested that in knowing your product (rootrainer) is being used successfully in the gardens as part of a conservation project to preserve the rare and endangered Begonia socotranus.
