    Copper Handcrafted Gardening Tools

    VICTOR SCHAUBERGER

These tools are inspired by the work of the Austrian inventor and visionary Victor  Schauberger  who believed that copper is more beneficial to the soil and the health of plants, than conventional iron or steel tools.

In the late 1940's he tested his theory in field trials of rye, barley, winter wheat, maize, carrots and potatoes and fields were ploughed in strips, using steel and copper plated ploughs alternately.  There was a consistently higher yield in the portions ploughed by the copper-plated plough and there were fewer pests, healthier, greener plants.  This lead to the copper-plated ploughshare being known as the 'golden plough'

Victor patented his invention, but was then unable to obtain sufficient quantities of copper to produce the tools and so the project was shelved till now.

WHY DOES COPPER MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE?

    • copper is the exact opposite of iron and steel.  Iron is magnetic, copper is conductive.
    • So whereas iron tools disturb the soil magnetism, copper assists the flow of earth energies to nourish plants.
    • Iron is a base metal, so it rusts when exposed to air.  Copper (along with silver and gold) is a noble metal which does not corrode easily.
    • Iron is hardened when hot.  Copper and bronze are hammered when cold to harden and although the resulting tools are not quite as hard as steel, they are less brittle and will never rust!
    • deters slugs and snails
    • causes less friction than iron or steel so the soil slides off the surface
    • copper is lighter than iron or steel.
