Rootrainer Seed Trays

Rootrainers are the world’s only opening modular cell trays.

The Rootrainer system is made up of deep seed trays, divided into separate segments known as ‘books’. They are unique because they open up like a book.

This enables you to:

• inspect the growing progress to see how well the root has established and check that there is sufficient moisture
• to remove your plants easily, without any damage to their root system.

Each tray pack of Rootrainers comprises a set of ‘books’, a holding tray and a propagating lid.  The propagating lid is dual purpose - it can sit on top of the tray as a mini propagator to maintain moisture and warmth, and it can also be used as a soaking tray when placed underneath.

Each ‘book’ has a unique hinged opening mechanism and is made up of four cells.

The cell is what does the ‘root trainer’ bit. It has internal grooves, which encourage the roots to grow straight - this means no root curl and a stronger healthier plant which suffers no check when planted out.
