Nearly everyone takes stem cuttings at one time or another by means of removing a small piece from the stem of a plant. This piece with the proper treatment is then induced to form roots and over a period of time grows into a specimen identical to the parent plant.
When it comes to woody plants it is not so easy to propagate in this manner and the gardener will find that there is a need for special equipment which makes the whole process laborious and time consuming.
As a result of the variety of ways to propagate cuttings, Jose Luis Lleo Faura of Valencia, Spain, who had spent a lifetime growing fruit trees, started looking for an easy method of propagation and The Rooter pot came into being.
This is the great advantage of the Rooterpot.
- It can be used for any type of stem cutting, the stem size will determine which of the two sizes of pot you would use
- The stem cutting being cloned is not removed from the plant until the roots are established thuis fed by the mother plant
- The pot clips easily around the stem and stays frimly in place.
At any stage, development of roots can be observed without disturbance to the root system
- Once the root system has established the branch can be cut at base of pot leaving an identical reproduction
- It greatly reduces time which would be required for the method of grafting
- The pot is reusable time after time with normal care
The Rooterpot is a winner of numerous international innovation awards and Craig Coussins, in the UK, one of the world's leading authorities on Bonsai, has included its use in his third book, Bonsai School, published by Sterling and D&S Books.
But most important The Rooter pot will save you time, and money whilst making your gardening much more fun.
