Nemasys: Leatherjacket Killer

the larval stage of the Crane Fly or Daddy Long Legs
They start feeding on grass roots in the autumn and continue through the winter and spring
In the summer they emerge as Daddy Long Legs and start the cycle all over again
The larvae are about 2.5cm/1" long, greyish balck and legless. They also do not have a distinct head
The eggs are laid in late August and hatch within 2 weeks. The young start feeding immediately.

Leatherjacket Killer contains the nematode Steinernema feltiae and it should be watered into lawns about 2 weeks after the adult Daddy Long Legs have been seen. Leatherjackets will die within 2-3 weeks after application.

The months when the pest is present are August to October and this is the best time to apply the nematodes as the soil temperature is around 12 degrees.

PLEASE NOTE -

The product needs to be used almost immediately and the whole packet should be used in one application.

The product cannot be stored for long periods of time (expiry date is 3-4 weeks from date of dispatch). The product also needs to be refrigerated upon receipt.

If you are ordering more than one box, please ensure that suitable arrangements are made for the receipt of the packages so that they do not have to go back to a hot sorting office - one box will fit through your letter box.
