Products for Gardeners > Crop Protection > Grazers Grazers Effective against damage from Rabbits Pigeons Deer & Geese.           Grazers is a systemic spray which is harmless, odourless and non toxic . The solution is absorbed by the plant through the stem and leaves, this may take up to a few days - depending on the time of year.  Repeat spraying may be necessary if the problem persists.  Grazers contains calcium which helps to promote new growth  Grazers is suitable for use on shrubs, trees, bedding plants, herbaceous borders, roses, lawns as well as fruit bushes and vegetables. It may be applied at any time of year using a back pack or hand pump sprayer (a watering can is not effective enough). Grazers lasts for up to 6 weeks and it is recommended to spray every 4 weeks or more frequently if plants are being watered overhead or if signs of damage reappear sooner  It is also recommended that as new plants are extremely tender and attractive to grazing pests they may need a bit more attention and so should be sprayed at least twice, 3 days apart, prior to planting and again once planted  A commercial grower has implemented this programme on his young herb crop (previously dessimated by rabbits) prior to being potted and put out into beds and has found it to be very effective.  The photo on the right shows the rosebed before treatment (roses and strip of grass around the bed were sprayed once with the basic rate).   The photo on the left shows the rosebed 4 weeks after treatment (notice the grass)       Grazers is obtainable as follows: Grazers "Garden" (250ml bottle) which is sufficient to treat ½ acre. Grazers "Amenity" (1 litre bottle) which is sufficient to treat 2,5  acres.  This bottle is a high concentrate and is considered to be the most economical option.  It does not need to be used all at once, seal the bottle after use and store it away from direct sunlight and you will have it ready to hand when needed again.  Grazers "Ten Acre" which is designed for the agricultural/horticultural grower and will treat 10 acres and is best applied with a tractor and boom sprayer.  The agricultural bottle is very highly concentrated.
